Finding and Opening Old Part Files
The Bend-Tech 7x release has required a different file structure and forced a new file extension type. If you have a previous release of Bend-Tech and would like to bring an old part or assembly into the new release of Bend-Tech, you will simply need to change the extension filter type.
On the "File Open" screen (which can be accessed by clicking on the open icon or by going to File -> Open -> Tube), you will find a file type default at the bottom of the screen, as shown below.
The new extensions are 4 letters (.bttx, .btax, .btpx). Select the drop-down menu and you will find that you can change the extension filter to the old extensions of .bez, .btx, .bta, or .btp. After changing the filter, files of that extension type will be displayed on your window.
Note: The newest Bend-Tech has a different directory structure (c:\2020ssi\common\parts) and you may need to change the location (ie. c:/2020ssi/bend-tech pro/parts/). If old part files are brought in from a previously used hard drive or computer, we recommend saving these files in the c:\2020ssi\common\parts directory so they will be instantly available when using the software.
After the part or assembly is loaded, you can save it and it will now save into the new format.
